Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnn Kymes and Alison Kruss were the two newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23rd, 1971) is an American bluegrass and country musician as well as singer. She started working in the business of music from a young age. at the age of 10 she was a winner in local contests and recorded her first album. She was signed in 1985 by Rounder Records. Her first solo album came out in 1987. She was a part of the group who she still performs, Alison Krauss Union Station. The group released their debut album in 1989.
